We’re MARi, a K-Career SaaS platform that uses artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing to help individuals, educational institutions, and employers accelerate outcomes and expand human potential.

MARi seeks an “ed-tech” and/or “career-tech” focused Data Architect/Engineer to work closely with the MARi Data Science Team and Engineering Team. You will design and develop analytic code, predominantly in Python and Typescript in the Google Cloud Platform.

In this role, you will:

Develop data ingestion pipelines and data analytic implementations for customer-facing applications (production-grade pipelines and workflows; ad-hoc analyses)
Translate algorithms into production-quality and operational code
Manage all data flow by developing processes that verify, standardize, and scale data input, transformation and storage
Work with our engineers to automate recurring ETL and reporting jobs with large heterogeneous data sets
Work closely with the front-end developers to ensure data that is brought in and managed is clean, accurate, available and complete
Identify data-related issues or inconsistencies
Produce actionable recommendations that address known problems and then implement solutions, such as developing automated quality control scripts
Contribute to the development of a data warehouse and curating data for data scientists

We're looking for someone who has:

Advanced education (preferably PhD and/or heavy research background) in statistics, mathematics, computer science or a related field
Experience working with private and sensitive personal information
Experience scrubbing, managing, and manipulating diverse data sets
Proficiency in database architecture and query languages like Spark or NoSQL Firestore
Expert knowledge of Python and or Typescript/Javascript
Experience in writing performant and maintainable code
Interest in data analytic technologies such as Apache Spark, Apache Pig, Google Dataflow and/or MapReduce
Experience with Agile Development
